How are warranties created?
We have been manufacturing labels for
over 25 years. Too many times, we have seen spurious claims made by
unsophisticated label and sign converters fall flat just a few years
later. Printers all purchase their raw materials from the same large,
international manufacturers: 3M, DuPont, Fasson, Toyobo, Occidental,
ICI, etc. In specifying the label, then, demand to know at least the
following:
- Who makes the film that will be
used in this label or tag?
- What does this underlying manufacturer
tell about the films UV durability and its performance
under fluctuating temperatures?
Too many times, we have seen a 3M film
that is rated by 3M as having only a 7 year life become magically
transformed into a "15 year" film by the label printer.
Or, on assertion that a polyester laminate imparts a 7 year durability,
when all credible manufacturers rate polyester laminates as only
having a limited outdoor life.
Study after study has indicated that
installation and ordering costs are always more expensive than the
label or sign itself. A product having a long life pays for itself
with reduced labor.

Fiberglass signs are the least expensive
per year.
