This design is based on the classic ANSI 13.1 pipe marker designs. In this variation, you may use a symbol or arrow on both sides. You may find that the limit of only 9 to 10 capital characters may be too restrictive. If so, consider using a design with two rows of type or the Scrunched design. Note also, that capital letters take up more space than a legend in mixed upper and lower case.
