| Should I
add a bar-code to my tag?
Bar-codes have never been easier. Even if you do not have a bar-coding
system now, we recommend that you use bar-codes for your property
ID tags. It can be exceedingly expensive to retrofit all of your
asset and equipment labels and there is no cost to add this feature
to your labels at the outset.

Bar-codes streamline identification. The black and white bars that
you see at the bottom of certain designs represent a unique identification
for that component. They provide a simple, accurate and cost effective
approach for identifying a unique number by using a bar-code scanner.
Its low susceptibility to errors makes bar-codes ideal for quick
inventory of your assets. Again, the cost of adding a bar-code cost
is minimal, but the benefits are potentially large.
Also note that you may add a prefix
or suffix to your serial number. For asset id serial numbers with
non-sequential data, please send your file to customerservice@electromark.com
along with a note. There is no extra cost for this service. We accept
files in a CSV or XLS Excel file format.
