Use a 3M Scotchbrite pad (or equivalent) to remove any surface oxidation, dirt or chalking from application surface and to rough up the surface. The surface shall then be cleaned with Surface Prep 77 or equal. Markers shall be applied at temperatures above 40ºF.
  5. Premasking. To speed installation and ensure that the digits align properly, the digits use a premask. This premask helps to line the letters up properly and that they use the proper amount of inter-character spacing. The premask tape is then used to apply to the top of the digits. Using the premask the digits are "squeegeed" onto the proper surface. The premask is removed after the label is adhered to the application surface.
  6. Warranty. Workmanship and quality shall be such that all lettering is sharp, legible, straight and aligned properly. Smudges, misalignment, mis-wording, mis-spelling, crooked letters, incorrect color, incorrect materials and any other problems that show poor quality and workmanship will give sufficient cause to reject any label. The products are to be guaranteed by the vendor to be free of workmanship or material defect.
