Scope.
This specification covers ComboCal paper label sheets that are printable on an ink jet or
laser printer. Applications include Do-It-Yourself signs, Right-To-Know labels, PCB
labels, DOT Shipping labels or pipe markers
- Base Material. The base film shall be a
0.0035" thick paper with an ink jet absorbent and laser receptive coating. The base
paper shall have a minimum thickness of 0.001" of a water-based, acrylic adhesive and
a paper liner. The liner shall be 55# with a thickness of 0.004". The liner shall be
a lay-flat type with a tight release. "MP" construction uses a sheet that is
best suited for laser printers; ""B""uses a sheet best suited for ink
jet printers.
- Writable Coating. The base label shall have a
writable coating that allows the customer to write his name, account number, address, etc.
The coating shall be receptive to marks from a pencil or ballpoint pen.
- Polyester Overlamination [optional].
Each package of ComboCal labels shall include precut clear polyester laminate. This
polyester laminate shall have a total thickness of 0.002". The polyester laminate
shall serve to protect the label from attack by solvents, water and mild acids. It shall
be sized to match the die-cut label size.
- Preprinted Ink Color & Type: Conventional
solvent-based or UV inks shall be used.
- Adhesive Performance. The base material shall be a
0.001" thick acrylic adhesive having the following values on 60# paper:

- Size. The labels shall have the following

- Packaging. 50 labels shall be packaged in a
polyethylene bag or vacuum formed package. Each bag or package shall be identified with
the item description, inspector, date, quantity and part number. Bags or packages shall
then be packaged in a corrugated carton.
- Installation. The labels shall be applied to a
clean, dry surface. Use a 3M Scotchbrite pad (or equivalent) to remove any surface
oxidation, dirt or paint chalking from application surface and to rough up the surface.
Labels shall adhere well to substrates including polyethylene, glass, steel and recycled
corrugated board. Labels shall be applied at temperatures above 35ºF
- Warranty. Workmanship and quality shall be such
that all lettering is sharp, legible, straight, and aligned properly. Smudges,
misalignment, mis-wording, misspelling, crooked letters, incorrect color, incorrect
materials, and any other problems that show poor quality and workmanship will give
sufficient cause to reject any label. The products are to be guaranteed by the vendor to
be free of workmanship or material defect.

INTENDED USES. WE ARE NOT BOUND BY ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES ARE WE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, EXPENSE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY
KIND ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE OUR PRODUCTS.
