| Our Sodium Sulfide Torture Test &
The Under- Ground Aging “Rule-Of-Thumb” |
 |
 |
|
In tests and practice, many products
buried underground for several years turn black. Typically, certain
ground-water dissolved chemicals will leach out the product's residual
lead and thus darken the tag, label, tape, etc. We subject each of
our products intended for underground use to a super-tough, long term
test exposure to a solution of sodium sulfide. We follow the telephone
industry, a major owner of underground infrastructure, and their sodium
sulfide test “rule-of-thumb”: sealed exposure for a month
mimics one year of underground life. |
